Here is an easy to follow recipe for Prawn Fry. Prawns hold a special place in any non-veg lovers heart. Yes?? Who would not love those flavorful, crunchy fried prawns with some steaming rice? They are one of the favorite sea foods at my home too, especially the fried ones. This special prawn dry fry is my Mom’s super recipe. It has a distinct and delicious aroma and flavor. The prawns are just perfectly cooked. Below is how to prepare this interesting dish.

This dish is quite easy to prepare. Many people I know are a bit reluctant to cook prawns at home, worrying about how to clean it. Well, it’s not that difficult too. You just need a little practice and then, there you go, all ready to work on it.

Instructions
  1. Marinate the cleaned prawns with turmeric, red chilli powder, salt and ginger garlic paste. Refrigerate it for atleast 1 hour.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and saute the onion lightly. 1 minute will do.
  3. Next add the marinated prawns and saute for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Now add little water and cook with lid on for about 5 minutes.
  5. Now remove the lid and let all the water evaporate, and let the prawns fry nicely.
  6. Turn the sides and see to that it doesn't get burnt. Add little oil if required.
  7. 2 minutes before putting off the flame, add the crushed fennel seeds and mix well.
  8. Serve hot.

This dish is perfect to be had with a bowl of white rice and some dal. It goes well with rotis or naan too. Do try it and fall in love with it! 🙂
