  1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
  2. Splutter mustard seeds.
  3. Then add the chopped onions and saute until thy turn light pink in color.
  4. Next add the chopped ginger, green chilies and curry leaves.
  5. Saute until the raw smell goes off.
  6. Next add the potatoes and saute for a minute.
  7. Add turmeric powder and mix well.
  8. Next add water and salt. Mix well.
  9. Pressure cook for about 8 minutes.
  10. Allow the pressure to release by itself.
  11. Then with the back of a ladle, slightly mash the cooked potatoes.
  12. Serve hot with hot pooris.
