An easy and interesting way to make kids love the vegetables that they have is to make a soup that suit their taste buds. This mushroom and broccoli soup would make them feel warm and cozy, especially during these cold wintry days. Ours is a soup family. I learnt to make soups from Bappa, my father. He makes amazingly tasty soups especially for Ramzan, after the fasts. It is so relieving to have a cup of warm, light and nutritious soup. Usually I prepare chicken soup. But this mushroom and broccoli soup is equally delicious. I have used water this time, but you may replace it with chicken stock or vegetable stock. The roasted sesame seeds that I added finally, gives the soup a nutty flavor and crunch. But please do not add more. A little is enough.
