Malai Soya

I love soya chunks and so does Tanu. So I keep trying new recipes and different methods of preparation of this ingredient, which is absolutely healthy and tasty too. It tastes totally like a non-veg curry 🙂 The perfect blend of spices makes it delicious, and truly Indian. And the cream gives it the richness and taste. Malai soya is a rich creamy gravy perfect to be had with phulka, or naan. And it even tastes delicious with ghee rice. It is a simple and easy recipe.  So when guests arrive this could be a quick and easy curry to think of. So here is how to make this interesting dish without much hassle. Instructions
  1. Grind onions to a paste and keep it aside.
  2. Grind tomato into a paste and keep it aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan.
  4. Add in the cloves, cinnamon and cardamom and fry for a minute.
  5. Next add the onion paste and saute for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Add the ginger garlic paste and green chillies and saute for 3 minutes.
  7. Next add the tomato puree and mix well. Saute for 3 minutes.
  8. Now lower the flame and add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, corriander powder and garam masala powder and mix well. Fry for a minute.
  9. Now add the crushed kasoori methi too and saute.
  10. Add in water and mix thoroughly.
  11. Add salt as required.
  12. Once the water boils, add the cooked soya chunks and cook covered for 5 minutes.
  13. If gravy is too thick add 1/4 to 1/2 cup water.
  14. Add in the fresh cream, reserving 1-2 tbsp for garnishing, mix well.
  15. Switch the flame off and garnish with the reserved fresh cream and chopped corriander.
Recipe Notes

You may also fry few cashew in ghee and garnish to give an even more royal look and taste to this dish.
