Chocolate Oats Cookies

Presenting oats in another interesting form.. as cookies. Not everybody would like to have oats the usual way. So why not disguise it by adding an interesting element..yes, chocolate. So these chocolate oats cookies are a perfect snack with a cup of hot milk or tea. They are sweet, chocolatey and little gooey. Yes, not crunchy and crisp like biscuits, they are soft, chewy and moist. Here is how to make this easy dish.

You get bites of raisins too. Overall it is a total treat. You could relish them anytime, and feel happy that you have had something healthy. The all purpose flour in the recipe could be easily replaced by wholewheat flour.

Instructions
  1. Mix together oats, all purpose flour, cocoa powder, sugar, salt and baking powder.
  2. Now rub the butter into the flour mixture with clean fingers till it forms small crumbs.
  3. Next, add in 3/4th of a beaten egg and mix to form a dough.
  4. Add in the raisins.
  5. Make small balls of the dough and press to form the shape of a cookie. Continue for rest of the dough.
  6. Preheat the oven to 180 degree centigrade and bake the cookies for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool, and enjoy the delicious chocolate oat bites!!
