Chocolate honey granola is a super healthy and delicious dish. You can serve it for breakfast or brunch with milk, or even as a snack, as is. The goodness of oats, honey, dry fruits, and seeds makes it really nutritious. Chocolate makes it more tasty and appetizing. I was inspired by the chocolate granola recipe of Rafeeda from The Big Sweet Tooth, however have made my own additions to the recipe according to my taste, and availability of ingredients. And i have also concealed many healthy ingredients behind the name and color of ‘chocolate’ 🙂
So, this month, for the first time I participated in the Muslim Food Blogger Challenge, and I’m so happy and excited about it. It is a monthly challenge with a special theme for every month. This month’s challenge was to cook a bookmarked recipe. And this recipe of Chocolate Honey Granola from Rafeeda’s blog was just perfect. It is an easy and simple recipe, yet very tasty and healthy.
For making this Chocolate Honey Granola, I have used rolled oats, honey, seeds like pumpkin seeds and flax seeds, dry fruits like chopped almonds and pistachios, and black raisins, chocolate, cocoa powder, butter, cane sugar and vanilla essence. So first preheat the oven to 180 degree centigrade. Except chocolate and raisins, take all the ingredients in a baking tray. Mix everything well. Bake for 15 minutes. Then add the chopped chocolate pieces and raisins and mix well. Bake again for another 10 minutes. Allow to cool down completely.
You may serve it as it is with more honey, or with milk, for breakfast or brunch. It is also great to have it for your sudden sweet cravings. I had stored it in an air tight container and refrigerated. So after almost every meal, I would just gobble 2-3 spoons full of this healthy sweet.. 🙂
So try out this easy, healthy and tasty chocolate treat!!
