The term applesauce appears to be very complicated, isn’t it? Even I thought so, until I made it yesterday. You too can make applesauce by pureeing cooked apples. As easy as it could be! I did quite a lot of investigation on the ways of preparing applesauce before I attempted to try myself. You could add any flavors you want, sweeteners that you like or even preservatives to extend the shelf life. I have used my own method and ingredients here. And it came out really rich and beautiful. It is also a good way to avoid apples getting rotten. Yes, it happens at my home that the first couple of days, we (not me 🙂 ) gobble them greedily. But for the next few days the rest of the apples start sitting idle in the fruit basket. And finally, once they begin to rotten, we throw them away. And if we keep the left over cut pieces in refrigerator, we keep them there for another 5-6 days, and then throw away 🙂 So making applesauce will thus avoid this and thus save the fruit. You can easily refrigerate them and use for at least 2-3 weeks.
